Learn about Manx jellies, make your own jellyfish and come on our virtual jellyfish survey!
Whats that blob?!
We've all said it at some point, spotted a strange gelatinous blob in the sea or on the beach and wondered what it was!
Well more often than not, those wobbly blobs turn out to be jellyfish! But hey, you'd have know that if you had come along to our jelly themed workshop!
|Don't worry because here is your chance!|
On the 27th June, manxsmc we will be hosting our first EVER workshop with local expert and PhD student, Grai Hardinge, who will be teaching you all how to identify Manx jellyfish *Please note, not all 'Manx' jellyfish have three legs..!
We will also be introducing our new, manxsmc jellyfish reporting system and taking you on a virtual jellyfish survey so you can hone your ID and surveying skills!
If we haven't snaffled up your interest yet, then maybe this will convince you!
After a hard bout of listening(!), you will be able to craft your own jellyfish to take home with you, peruse some jellyfish specimens, tickle your taste buds with some jellyfish to taste, and put your newly founded jellyfish knowledge to the test in our fun-filled quiz. Oh and if that's not incentive enough, there will be PRIZES to be won!
There really is something for everyone and you are all very welcome to attend, but please note, the workshop is aimed for ~ 8 years through to adult.
It promises to be a jelly-tastic day, so please come and join us at;
Port St. Mary’s Town Hall on 27th June 2015, from 2-4pm!
for the princely sum of £3 per person!
All proceeds raised from the day will go straight back into running the jellyfish project and conserving Manx waters.
With that in mind, please book and secure your place now:
